VIDEO: Moment Sokoto Residents Leaving State Over Relentless Bandit Attacks
Residents of Bargaja village in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State have reportedly fled the community following repeated attacks allegedly carried out by bandits loyal to Bello Turji.
The development has forced many families to leave their homes in search of safety in nearby communities.
According to security analyst Bakatsine, the movement of residents has continued despite the ongoing Ramadan fasting being observed by many people in the village.
Bakatsine stated, āNote that the residents are fleeing because almost on a daily basis armed bandits will attack their community killing and kidnapping countless persons.ā
He noted that residents were seen leaving the village in groups, packing into vehicles with their belongings as they moved away from the area.
A video seen by Naija News House shows large numbers of civilians abandoning the community amid growing fear and insecurity.
Families were observed departing the village as they continued to relocate from the area.
The situation has been linked by residents to attacks allegedly carried out by bandits loyal to Bello Turji.
The incidents have reportedly led to repeated killings and kidnappings in the community.
Attempt to obtain comments from the Police Public Relations Officer of the Sokoto State Command, Rufaāi Ahmed, was unsuccessful, as he was not available for comment.
