VIDEO: Bad Market As Civilian JTF Members, Boko Haram Collaborator Arrested Over Plot To Attack Army Barracks, Steal Weapons

Security operatives have arrested three suspected Boko Haram collaborators, including two members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), over an alleged plot to attack the military barracks in Mubi, Adamawa State, with the aim of stealing weapons after participating in a deadly operation in Gushe where soldiers were reportedly killed and beheaded.

The suspects were apprehended on March 29, 2026, by professional hunters at the residence of the Sarkin Baka, a traditional leader, following intelligence reports linking them to extremist activities and logistics support for Boko Haram insurgents operating in parts of northeastern Nigeria.Nigerian government news

According to information, the suspects confessed in Hausa language during interrogation that they were part of a Boko Haram support network responsible for gathering looted items during attacks and delivering them to commanders of the terrorist group.

In a video obtained by Naija News House, the suspects individually admitted their roles in the Gushe attack and disclosed details of a planned operation targeting the Mubi military barracks, including an alleged plan to destroy the Yola bridge using explosives believed to be obtainable from the barracks.

One of the suspects, identified as Ado John from Madagali, admitted he worked with the Civilian JTF while secretly acting as an informant for Boko Haram.

During interrogation, he said:“Yes, I am an informant, but I am involved.”

When asked about his previous occupation, he stated: “I worked with the Civilian JTF.”

Confirming he was providing information to Boko Haram while serving with the local security group, he said:“Yes.”

On where he carried out attacks, Ado John responded: “Gushe.”

He explained that after the Gushe operation, plans were made to expand the attacks.

“After Gushe we did not go elsewhere. They said we should enter Mubi.”

When asked about the number of casualties, he claimed his role was not direct combat but logistics.

“Honestly, I told you, I swear to you, we do not know how many people were killed. Our work was to gather goods and deliver them to them.”

According to him, looted items were stockpiled for collection by other insurgent operatives

“We piled them by the roadside.”

On weapons used during the attack, he said: “I did not use a gun. We held knives.”

He further revealed details of a planned attack on the Mubi barracks.

“There was an attack plan to enter Mubi Barracks and collect weapons. I discussed it with my friend Yunusa when I met him.”

According to him, the weapons were to be used for further sabotage operations.

“They said we should go to Yola bridge and destroy the bridge, then later collect weapons and place them there.”

Appealing for leniency, he said:“I am asking the government for help. I will not do it again.”

He added: “Everyone I know, I will reveal them.”

Another suspect, Yunusa, from Goza, also admitted involvement in the Gushe attack but claimed he later withdrew from further operations.

When asked if he was involved with Boko Haram, he responded:“Yes, that is correct.”

Confirming participation in the Gushe operation, he said: “We went to Gushe.”

On casualties, he stated: “The number killed… I saw about four people killed.”

He confirmed the victims were soldiers.

    “They were soldiers.”

Like the first suspect, he denied using firearms.

“I did not carry a gun.”

He described how looted items were handed over to other operatives.

“We gathered the goods and gave them to them.”
