Troops Overrun Terrorist Hideouts In Sububu Forest, Recover Arms

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have sustained a relentless offensive against terrorist elements operating within Sububu Forest, as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal enclaves and restore security in the North-West region.

Troops of Sector 2, 8 Division, while advancing into identified terrorist hideouts, engaged hostile elements in Indulumu and Ruduno villages, where they decisively neutralised several terrorists during intense firefights.
During the operations, the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, one magazine loaded with 28 rounds of ammunition, and a pair of woodland camouflage uniforms. Additionally, two motorcycles used by the terrorists for movement and attacks were destroyed at the scene.

Maintaining operational momentum, the troops conducted extensive exploitation of the forest, leading to the discovery and destruction of several terrorist camps and life-support structures. These actions significantly degraded the logistical and operational capabilities of the terrorist groups.

In a notable development, the troops successfully rescued a 13-year-old kidnapped victim, Halira Ibrahim, reaffirming the military’s commitment to protecting innocent civilians.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains resolute and unyielding in its drive to deny terrorists safe haven and ensure the restoration of lasting peace and security across the North-West region.
