VIDEO: Again, Tears As Tinubu Stumbles, Falls In Turkey

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was briefly assisted by officials after he stumbled and fell during a reception parade held in his honour in Turkey.

A video obtained by Naija News House shows the President losing his footing while exchanging pleasantries with officials during the ceremonial parade. He was quickly helped back to his feet by several aides.
President Tinubu was walking alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the time of the incident. There has been no official statement from the Presidency regarding the stumble. However, the President’s health has remained a subject of public discussion in recent times.

Earlier on Monday, the State House announced in a statement published on its official website that President Tinubu had arrived in Ankara, the capital of the Republic of Türkiye, for a state visit. According to the statement, the President’s aircraft touched down at exactly 9:03 p.m. local time.
He was received at the Ankara Esenboğa Airport by a Turkish government delegation led by the Minister of National Education, Yusuf Tekin. Also present were the Chargé d’Affaires at the Nigerian Embassy in Türkiye, Ambassador Zayyad Abdulsalam, alongside other embassy officials.

A further statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed that the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake; and Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), received the President upon his arrival at the hotel.
The statement added that other officials present at the hotel reception included the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim; Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Kingsley Udeh, SAN; Minister of State for Industry, John Enoh; Chairman of the House Committee on Defence, Babajimi Benson; Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed.
According to the State House, President Tinubu’s visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the Republic of Türkiye and exploring additional areas of cooperation to advance a mutually beneficial partnership.
The statement further noted that President Tinubu is expected to hold talks with his Turkish counterpart, President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan, and witness the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding between the two countries, among other official engagements.
