BREAKING: Tears As Truck Loses Control, Kills Officers

A truck descending the Ore Bridge on Friday rammed into a police vehicle, killing three policemen and a female suspect in Ore, Odigbo Local Council Area of Ondo State.

The policemen, part of the monitoring unit of the state police command, had left Akure to effect an arrest in Ore before the fatal accident occurred.

A source, who wished to remain anonymous, told Guardian that the victims died on the spot.

“With the heavy noise emanating from the accident, everyone rushed to the scene, and on getting there we realised that the occupants were policemen. Three of them died on the spot, and one sustained injuries,” he said.

“The one that sustained injuries was rushed to the hospital. It was later that we had information that the lady that also died in the accident was a suspect who the police officers had come to arrest from Akure.”

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said the command would soon react to the situation.

The State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) also stated that a report on the accident would soon be issued.
