After Stepping Down, Trump Blasts Biden Over ‘Lies, Fake News’
Donald Trump has castigated President Joe Biden, claiming that the latter’s presidential bid was built on a foundation of lies and deceit, ultimately catapulting him into the White House.
Trump stated this on Sunday shortly after Biden withdrew from the presidential race following public pressure to step down, particularly from members of his party.
President Biden had been under immense scrutiny following a widely covered debate against Trump, during which many felt Biden’s performance was poor.
This, coupled with ongoing rumours that the president’s advancing age may be affecting his political acumen, had led to increasing calls for his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race.
In a statement on Sunday, Trump said, “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – And never was!
“He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement.
“All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t – And now, look what he’s done to our Country, with millions of people coming across our Border, totally unchecked and unvetted, many from prisons, mental institutions, and record numbers of terrorists.”
“We will suffer greatly because of his presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has done very quickly. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he added.
