How Unizik Killed Law Student After Hostel Mistress Refused Spare Key For Her Diabetes Medication

A law student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, has sadly died, and her fellow students are calling for justice. They blame the hostel mistress for her death.
The student, Ajana Isabella, lived in Elmada Hostel. She and her roommates reportedly lost their room key and needed a new one to get back inside.

When they went to the hostel mistress, known as Madam Bright, to ask for a spare key, she allegedly told them they had to pay for it, as required by hostel rules.

The spare key was said to cost ₦120,000, which meant each of the three roommates had to pay ₦40,000.

The students said they couldn’t afford the money immediately. Ajana, who had diabetes, urgently needed her insulin, which was locked in the room.

Despite their pleas, the hostel mistress reportedly refused to help. Ajana’s health got worse, and she collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, July 6, but sadly passed away on Wednesday, July 9.
Now, Unizik students are demanding justice.
