BREAKING: Many Causalities As Explosion Rocks Zungeru Hydroelectric Dam
An explosion has occurred at the Zungeru Hydroelectric Dam in Niger State, injuring several people and affecting dam installations.
According to an eyewitness, the incident took place early Monday morning and injured several workers.
NNH learnt that a foreign engineer, believed to be Chinese, suffered severe burns to his head and hand and was rushed to the Minna General Hospital.
As a result of the severity of his injuries, arrangements are being made to transfer him to the IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna, a source added.
The exact number of other injured workers has not yet been determined.
The cause of the explosion is currently unknown.
Also, as of now, there has been no official comment on the incident.
Efforts to contact the Niger State Police Public Relations, Wasiu Abiodun, to confirm the incident were unsuccessful.
