How We Bribed Officer With ₦50k To Escape From Prison – Rearrested Suspect
Abdullahi Mohammed, one of the suspects who recently escaped from the custody of the Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Agency, NAYEA, has accused an officer of the state-owned security outfit, Abdullahi Umar, of aiding their escape.
Mohammed alleged that Umar accepted a ₦50,000 bribe from some family members to facilitate his escape from custody in the Lafia metropolis.
He revealed this information following his rearrest after weeks of manhunt by security operatives.
It was reported that Mohammed and another suspect, who remains at large, had stolen a motorcycle parked at the premises of the popular eatery Lavista in Lafia.
The theft was captured on CCTV, leading to their initial arrest by NAYEA operatives, formerly known as the Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Scheme.
The suspect has since been handed over to the Nigerian Police for further investigation and appropriate action.
Efforts are ongoing to rearrest his accomplice.
