The Katsina State Police Command has captured and paraded a suspected bandit who claims he is under Bello Turji’s command. The suspect, Naziru Sani, reportedly stated that he lost count of the people he has killed during his criminal activities.
More details have emerged concerning the whereabouts of the wanted bandit leader, Bello Turji, and his men.
Speaking during the parade, PPRO Gambo Isah said, “A team of police officers along the Funtua Local Government Area (LGA) arrested the suspect. The suspect confessed during the investigation that he is a terrorist, and he is under Bello Turji’s leadership. Turji has been on the Command’s wanted list. The suspect stated that he has participated in attacks across Katsina, Zamfara, and Sokoto state. The suspect claims he can not give a full account of the number of people he killed.”
Naziru is married with two children. Naziru reportedly added that he is a professional when it comes to handling AK-47 rifles. The suspect also claims that Turji is hiding in the Jangegbe forest, and the bandit kingpin has more than 200 soldiers under his command in the Zamfara forest.
According to Naziru, he gets N20,000 – N30,000 payment per operation. Naziru reportedly claims he repented before getting arrested.
