Even If Peter Obi Says We Should Move On From 2023 Election, ‘Obidients’ Won’t Accept
A Nigerian singer and songwriter, Charles Oputa, popularly Charly Boy, a Nigerian activist and singer, stated has stated that supporters of the candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi will disagree even if the politician decides to stop challenging the outcome of the poll.
Obi and the party are challenging the victory of Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja.
But in a tweet on Tuesday, Charley Boy said ‘Obidients’ movement (supporters of Peter Obi) is bigger than Obi himself.
“See as Peter dey look me. U know smtin?
“Even if Peter Okwute Obi come tell us say make we move on from the 2023 yeye selection wey Yakubu mess up, Obidients no go gree sam sam. I Dey tell many people say, wetin wan happen wey don overdue to happen for Nigeria pass Peter Obi (Even if Peter Obi tells us to move on from the 2023 election messed up by Yakubu, Obidients won’t agree. I tell people that what will happen in Nigeria is bigger than Peter Obi),” he wrote.
In a related development, SaharaReporters earlier reported how some supporters of Obi had been attacking Pastor Poju Oyemade online.
Oyemade, the Senior Pastor and Founder of The Covenant Nation, has been attacked by Obidients over his recent comment urging Nigerians to work together for the country’s growth regardless of party allegiance.
Oyemade on his Twitter page had written, “For every one who loves Nigeria you want the country to win regardless of “who is playing.
“Just like you want your favourite team to win the trophy even if the coach didn’t field your preferred players, when your team scores you are happy. Let’s stay focused it’s all about the country winning.”
The comment however did not go down well with some netizens who were ardent supporters of Peter Obi.
A Twitter user, Aunty Uzor described the cleric’s position as demonic.
He said, “Lmaoooo Pastor Poju is a funny fellow. I just joined his live rn and someone called him out telling him to ask God for forgiveness for the demonic tweet he made yesterday, and boom, he turned off the comments. Hope someone took a screenshot.!
“He knows what he’s doing. Chameleon.”
Another user, Chijioke Ubaka alleged that Oyemade’s comment was borne out of his political affiliation.
He said, “These are men of dogs who eat off the rot in the system, so I’m not surprised when he starts to romanticize evil instead of chastising. Criminals on the pulpit.”
