A’Ibom State Govt inaugurates new boards for Akwa savings and college of Science.Two new boards of directors have been inaugurated for the Akwa Savings and Loans Ltd and the State College of Science and Technology, Ikono.
While Akwa Savings and Loans is headed by Mr. Peter Udoh as Chairman, Mr. Ime Okon, Managing Director and 4 other members, Akwa Ibom State College of Science and Technology, Nung Ukim Ikono, gets a 5-man Governing Council with Rt. Hon. Ime Okon as Chairman and four other members.
Other members of the Governing Council of the School of Science and Technology arre Mr. Ubong Ekefre, Mrs. Lovina Umoeffa, Mr. Sylvanus Udoh and Barr. Victor Okon while, Mr. Linus Nkan, Mr. Okon Okon, Mr. ImoAbasi Jacob and Ekaette Joseph Udo complete the Akwa Savings and Loans Board membership.
Performing the inauguration at the Government House, Wednesday, the Secretary to State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, described the two agencies as critical to the industrial and educational revolution of the Udom Emmanuel-led government and urged the appointees to key in to governor’s vision.
The SSG particularly tasked the Akwa Savings and Loans team on ensuring the viability of the bank by paying attention to merit rather than mercy.
He described the College of Science and Technology as a critical intermediary institution for building the state’s technological manpower, which is imperative to Governor Emmanuel’s industrial revolution agenda.
In their separate remarks, the newly sworn-in Chairmen, thanked the state Governor for an opportunity to part of his administration’s completion agenda and pledged their commitment to work in sync with board members and other relevant agencies to deliver on the mandate of their respective agencies.
The Akwa Savings and Loans Boss, Mr. Peter Udoh, described the composition of the Board as experience studded and expressed optimism in its capacity to reposition the agency to meet efficiency indices of contemporary banking.
On his part, Barr. Ime Okon of the College of Science and Technology said his Board will channel its energy towards making the school reflect the governor’s emergency declaration on the education sector.
