It was a thing of joy as Nigeria Former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has emerged African Leadership Magazine Africa Peace and Security Leader of the Year 2020, ahead of many other distinguished nominees across the continent.
Dr. Ken Giami, Publisher of the United Kingdom-based magazine, who announced the award at the head office of the group, United Kingdom (U.K) Said that Dr. Jonathan was overwhelmingly chosen by poll respondents because of his “commitment to deepening democracy, peace and security across the continent and globe.
The former President, Jonathan who Knows as peace Maker, “who has led several African Union (AU) and ECOWAS missions across the Africa, Dr. Jonathan scored over 80% to emerged the winner in the category, in a keenly contested poll.”
The announcement was made during 9th edition of the annual African Leadership Magazine Persons of the Year Award, alongside other 12 Africans
According to statement by the magazine the poll attracted more than 120,000 votes on the ALM website, over 7 million active online engagement and over 5000 votes via email.
On February 26th, 2021, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan will be decorated and presented with honour instrument as the winner,, during the annual African Leadership Magazine Persons of the Year Award ceremony.
Dr. Jonathan is the immediate past president of Nigeria, who loose his election in 2015.
He is the president that made history in the world, which everybody knows him as a peace marker.
He was the first to congratulate the current Nigerian president, Muhammad Buhari when he loose
