…Sues continuous Support for Gov. Emmanuel, showered new year packages to widows.
The Executive Chairman Akwa Ibom Internal Revenue Service, Mr Okon Okon and wife Barr. (Mrs) Nkereuwem Okon, on Saturday 1st January, 2021 hosted his community and it’s environs to a new year get-together at his country home in Ekpene Ibia, Uruan LGA. Naija News House reports
The new year celebration which is a yearly activity is usually organized by the AKIRS Boss and drew top dignitaries from wide spectrum of the state, the political class from Uruan extraction, stakeholders, women and youths who all came to share in the joy of the season.
The colourful ceremony had tastily cultural displays from the area that exudes joy which reflects the essence of the yelutide anniversary.

Mr Okon in his usual magnanimity a day before the new year celebration extended his yelutide largesse to PDP Uruan Chapter, Uruan Democratic Renaissance Group (UDRG), a socio-political group he holds so dear and, senior citizens of the state in the 31 LGAs of the state.
Setting the tone for the day, Okon expressed gratitude to God for seeing him and family through 2021 and indeed his years working in the administration of Gov Udom Emmanuel saying there has been significant marks.
“Since my entrant into the government and politics of Akwa Ibom State, we have always been celebrating with our people here every first day of a new year to afford us the opportunity to interact, sing, dance and share together what we have with our people.
This year’s celebration is taking a different turn because 2022 is indeed a special year, so I came today with my wife and family to mix with the community to share love of the season’.
Akwa Ibom is blessed with a man like Mr Udom Emmanuel in a period such as this with different signature projects and over twenty industries across the state under six years; this is only possible because of the man at the helm of affairs,” he noted.
“While thanking the Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration for running a good government that has developed all the parts of the state, specifically breaking the jinx by making our son the number three citizen of the state”.
Earlier in the event, Mr Okon Okon donated four motorcycles to youths of Ekpene Ibia in fulfilment of the promise he made to them.

The wife of Mr Okon, Barr. Nkereuwem Okon also presented new year package to 33 widows in Uruan, the package contained wrappers, bags of rice and cash gift.
Delivering his goodwill message, Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey lauded Mr Okon Okon and wife for consistently celebrating with the people over the years, he appreciated them for the love and magnanimity during and after the yelutide.
“Let me particularly appreciate Mrs Okon Okon for donating food items, cash and other gifts to widows across the 13 wards of Uruan LGA, it is indeed commendable”.Bassey said.
Other dignitaries who graced the occasion included; Chairman Uruan LGA, Hon (Surv.) Iniobong Ekpenyong, Akparawa Godwin Ntukude (Ph.D), Rt. Hon Henry I. Udofia, South South zonal leader, Obong Augustine Effiong, Political leader of Northern Uruan, Obong (Engr.)Offiong Akpabio, Political leader of South East, Obong Kingsley Orok, Rt. Hon Emmanuel Obot, former member HoR, Dr Itoro Etim, Commissioner Judiciary service commission, former chairmen of Uruan, Obong Awawa Ekaenang and Dr Eventus Edem, Leader Uruan legislative council, Hon Sunday Bassey, and other councillors from the area, Captains of industries, SAs, Village head of Ekpene Ibia, Youth groups, Women groups, Female youths, Christian youths, friends of Okon Okon amongst others.
