Amaechi Snubs Tinubu’s Swearing In, Attends Abia State Governor’s Inauguration, Gives Reason
The immediate past Minister of Transportation and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, was not present at the inauguration of Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s 16th President on Monday at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
Naija News House had reported Bola Tinubu was sworn in on Monday as the President of Nigeria.
He succeeds Muhammadu Buhari who left office on Monday.
Tinubu’s inauguration was well attended by African leaders including South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa; Prime Minister of Gabon, Billy By-Nze, President of the Republic of Cote D’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara; Ghana President, Nana Akufo-Addo; Rwanda President, Paul Kagame; amongst others.
However, Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers, who was absent from the inauguration ceremony on Monday was spotted at the inauguration of Labour Party’s Alex Otti as the Governor of Abia State at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
Dr Alex Otti was sworn in as the new governor of Abia state.
Otti took his oath of office at midday during the inauguration held at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
He was sworn in by the Abia Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Lilian Abai, with Otti ‘s deputy, Ikechi Valentine Emetu present.
