Information reaching Naija News House says that APC Gets New National Chairman
The Former Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is set to emerge as the Acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Naija News House reports.
An impeccable source in the seat of power who doesn’t want his name in. print told this Newspaper that President Bola Tinubu is searching for a competent, experienced hand that will reorganise the party, due to the crisis in the party in many states and even at the national level.
The source further hinted that the President may have settled down for Ganduje because he believe the former Governor has the qualities he is looking for to lead the party.
Naija News House gathered that, to achieve the objective of persuading Mr. Ganduje who was already penciled down for ministerial appointment the President sent emissaries to convince him.
The trio of the chairman of Progressive Governors Forum Imo state Governor, Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, Kwara state Governor Abdulraham Abdulrasaq and Ogun state Governor Dapo Abiodun were sent to Ganduje.
The former Governor was said agreed to work in the best interest of the party and the country.
The source added that three Governors and Mr. Ganduje are currently in a meeting with the President at Aso Villa to finalise the discussion.
“The President had listed Ganduje as one of the nominees for a ministerial appointment but because of his trust and confidence in the former governor, President Tinubu has to charge his mind although, the President also asked him (Ganduje) to nominate another person from Kano for the ministerial job.
“I can confirm to you that three serving governors of APC, including Imo and Kwara governors led the former governor Ganduje to a meeting with the President on Wednesday afternoon. The purpose of that meeting is for President Tinubu to brief Ganduje directly about the new assignment.”
