Woman Beats 5-year-old Girl To Coma Over Alleged Theft
A woman identified as Fatmata Barrie was reported to have beaten a 5-year-old girl, Mariama Musa, for taking food from a pot to satisfy her hunger.
This incident reportedly occurred in the Murray Town Barracks of Freetown, after Barrie had allegedly denied the child food throughout the entire day.
Confirming the incident in a statement on its official Facebook page on Monday, September 11, the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone – HRCSL wrote: “News update ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
“The Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL) has been monitoring the child cruelty allegations in a video shared on social media.
“As part of the investigation carried out during the monitoring, the Commission’s Directorate of Gender and Children’s Affairs identified the victim as Mariama Musa, a five-year-old child leaving with her aunt Fatmata Barrie at Murray Town Barracks in Freetown.
