Digital Revolution: Senator Bassey Empowers Akwa Ibom Youths With Digital Skills Training
In a bid to bridge the digital divide and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators, Senator Aniekan Bassey (PDP-Akwa Ibom North-East) has launched a comprehensive digital skills training program for the youths of his senatorial district.
The training, which kicked off on June 3, 2024, at the Akwa Ibom North-East Consituency Office, 45 Osongoma Estate, Uyo, will run for four weeks and focus on equipping participants with essential digital skills such as web development, graphic design, social media management, online marketing, and robotics.
According to Senator Bassey, the training is aimed at preparing the youths of his senatorial district for the challenges of the 21st century, where digital literacy is a prerequisite for success. “The world is becoming increasingly digital, and it is imperative that our youths are equipped with the necessary skills to compete globally,” he said.
The training program is part of Senator Bassey’s commitment to promoting economic empowerment and job creation in his senatorial district. “We believe that by empowering our youths with digital skills, we can create a pool of talented and innovative individuals who can drive economic growth and development in our state,” he added.
The training is open to youths from Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District. Participants were selected based on their interest in technology and potential for innovation.
The program is being implemented in collaboration with a team of experienced trainers and industry experts who will provide hands-on training and mentorship to participants. The training facilities are state-of-the-art, with high-speed internet connectivity and modern computer equipment.
At the end of the training program, participants are expected to have developed functional skills that can be applied in various industries. The senator has also promised to provide job placement opportunities to successful participants who demonstrate exceptional skills and potential.
The digital skills training program is just one of several initiatives being implemented by Senator Bassey to promote economic empowerment and development in his senatorial district. His other initiatives include infrastructure development, youth empowerment programs, and education development projects.
