BREAKING: Heavy Gunshots As Gunmen Storm Church, Abduct Commissioner, Kill Orderlies
Former Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Joan Mrakpor has been kidnapped.
It was learnt that the armed men who kidnapped the former commissioner reportedly killed two police orderlies attached to the former commissioner, leaving others with bullet wounds.
Mrakpor had resigned her appointment to enable her younger brother to contest the chairmanship election of Aniocha South Local Government Council.
Her resignation followed Mrakpor a series of protests against the siblings following her brother’s interest in the chairmanship position while she held a position in the state cabinet.
It was gathered that Mrakpor was kidnapped around 4 pm on Tuesday by unidentified gunmen on the premises of her church, ‘Jesus and 1’, off DBS Road in Asaba.
It was gathered the gunmen who ambushed Mrakpor, shot indiscriminately during the attack to scare people away before she was whisked to an unknown destination.
Efforts to reach the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe for comments failed as he did not answer his calls or reply to a message sent to his mobile phone.
