A’Ibom LG Elections: Senator Bassey Hails Uruan For Electing Ekpenyong, Others
Senator Aniekan Bassey of the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District has expressed gratitude to the people of Uruan local government Area of Akwa Ibom for unanimously electing Hon. Iniobong Ekpenyong and 13 others as their Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Naija News House reports.
This followed the primary election of the PDP held across Uruan Local Government Area on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Speaking With newsmen shortly after the event, Senator Bassey thanked the people of the area for their unity of purpose and Governor Umo Eno for creating an enabling environment where peace, unity, progress, and prosperity thrive.
“Governor Umo Eno’s peaceful disposition to politics and governance has made the 2024 party primary the most peaceful party primary ever held in Uruan and in the state.” Senator Bassey said.
The Uruan PDP candidates are Hon. Iniobong Ekpenyong (Chairmanship Candidate), Nsidibe Solomon Ekpenyong (North-I), Etietie Joseph Okon (North-II), Anietie Patrick Okon (Central-I), Otu Otu Udo (Central-II), Ifiok Paul Effiong (Central-III), Rose Effiong Bassey (Central-IV), and Blessing Dunkan Ekong (South-I).
Others are Hon. Sunday Bassey (South-II), Joseph Asuquo (South-III), Effiong Bassey Okon (South-IV), Itoro Edet Udoh (South-V), Paul Okon Asuquo (South-VI), and Effiong Robert Akpan (South-VII).
