Drama As Kidnapper Nabbed Inside Mosque While Praying For More Victims
A man suspected of being involved in kidnapping was apprehended while praying in a mosque in Takum, Taraba State.
The arrest took place at the Takum Central Mosque during the Assar prayer on Friday, according to a local resident, Dauda Mai Dawa.
On the same day, security forces arrested 13 other individuals along the Takum-Maraban Baissa road in connection with various crimes.
In a related development, the suspected orchestrator behind the murders of the Chief of Chanchangi and his son was captured by troops from the 6 Brigade/Sector 3 of Operation WHIRL STROKE, in coordination with other security agencies. The operation also led to the arrest of 15 additional suspected kidnappers, as well as the recovery of firearms and ammunition.
Captain Oni Olubodunde, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, reported that on August 18, 2024, the troops, acting on reliable intelligence, raided a criminal hideout in Takum LGA, resulting in the arrest of a suspect identified as David Musa.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Musa worked closely with a notorious kidnapping ringleader known as Ephraim, alias “SKIN THE BODY.”
Further operations on August 20, 2024, led to the capture of suspected gunrunners, James Nuhu and Dan-Asabe Ango, in Wukari Local Government Area.
During interrogation, the suspects admitted to participating in numerous criminal activities in and around Wukari.
They also identified one Ibrahim Philemon as the group’s armourer, responsible for storing their weapons and handling the proceeds of their crimes.
