Jubilation As ‘Trump’s Attorney-General Nominee, Receives Biafra Charter’, Others
Simon Ekpa, The self-proclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government In-Exile (BRGIE), has announced that Matt Gaetz, the U.S. Attorney-General designate, has received the Biafra Charter and related documents.
Naija News House reports that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump recently nominated Gaetz, a current member of Congress, as the Attorney-General designate.
Reacting to this development on his X social media handle on Thursday, Ekpa, who has been leading efforts for the secession of Nigeria’s South-East region, expressed optimism that Gaetz’s appointment could advance his cause.
He said : “Congratulations to Congressman Matt Gaetz [R-FL] (@mattgaetz) for his nomination by President-elect Trump to be the Attorney General of the United States of America. BRGIE Finance Minister Ogechukwu Nkere had the opportunity to meet with Congressman Gaetz in September of 2024 with the BRGIE lobbyists.
” BRGIE Finance Minister Ogechukwu Nkere provided the Congressman with a briefing as well as informational materials, including the Biafra Charter. We look forward to working with the Hon. Gaetz, in his new capacity as Attorney General of the United States of America, to the mutual benefit of Biafra and the United States.
“In way of background information, the United States Attorney General (AG) is the head of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) and is the chief law enforcement officer of the federal government of the United States. The attorney general serves as the principal advisor to the president of the United States on all legal matters. The attorney general is a statutory member of the Cabinet of the United States.”
Ekpa also shared a photograph of Gaetz purportedly meeting with Ogechukwu Nkere, who he claims serves as BRGIE’s Finance Minister.
