Trump Refuses To Invite Netanyahu To Inauguration
United States President-elect, Donald Trump, has reportedly refused to invite the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, to his forthcoming second term inauguration.
It was learnt that Trump had invited major world leaders but he did not include Netanyahu as one of his invitees.
As a result, AFP reported that Netanyahu has also cancelled his plan to attend Trumpโs inauguration because he was not invited and Trump also insulted him as a “warmonger, enemy of peace who wanted to get the U.S. to fight Iran.”
This is coming barely a week after Donald Trump shared a video on his Truth Social account on Wednesday that included an American professor calling Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a โdark son of a bitch,โ accusing him of being โobsessiveโ in trying to get the US to go to war against Iran.
The video, Trump shared, was a snippet of a lecture by Columbia University economics professor Jeffrey Sachs, where he speaks about the pretext for the US invasion of Iraq and how the US government at the time was trying to find a way to sell the โphony warโ to the American people.
โWhere did that war come from?โ Sachs asked rhetorically, as part of an attack on the Obama administrationโs actions.
โYou know what? Itโs quite surprising. That war came from Netanyahu, actually,โ he claimed.
โNetanyahu had, from 1995 on, the theory that the only way we are going to get rid of Hamas and Hezbollah is by toppling the governments that support them. Thatโs Iraq, Syria and Iran,โ he added.
โAnd the guy [Netanyahu] is nothing if not obsessive, and he is still trying to get us to fight Iran to this day,โ he claimed. โHe is a deep, dark son of a bitch, sorry to tell you.โ
