COVID-19: We’re Under Pressure To Resume Vaccination – Ogun
We’re under pressure to resume vaccination. It has been reported that the Ogun State Government says residents are demanding the resumption of the COVID-19 vaccination earlier put on hold after the first 10 days of the exercise.
The government disclosed that it had vaccinated over 59,000 persons, hinting that the demand for the resumption, showed that the initial hesitancy and resistance by a section of the society has reduced drastically.
The Executive Secretary, Ogun State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Elijah Ogunsola, made this known while speaking with media in Abeokuta.
Ogunsola said the government had tackled hesitancy among residents by vaccinating strategic leaders in the state, who in turn allayed fears of the residents.
He added that the strategies deployed by the government have also helped create awareness about the safety of the vaccine; noting that Ogun State is the only state that did not go beyond the 10 days slated for the campaign.
