CO-HEIRS foundation holds 2020 Carol concert
As part of the activities marking the birth of Jesus Christ, the son of God, effort was made by Co-Heirs Foundation, in conjunction with Ika North-east and Ika South Local Government Area, Christian Association of Nigeria [CAN] to organize a Christmas Carol Concert which took place on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Living Faith Church Auditorium, along the Old Lagos Asaba Road, Boji-Boji, Owa, Agbor District, Delta State.
Some of the prominent dignitaries who graced the occasion include; His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi A. Okowa, the executive Governor of Delta State, ably represented by the member representing Ika South Constituency at the Delta state House of
Assembly, Hon. Festus Chukwuyem Okoh, His Royal Magesty, II (JP) OON, the Obi of Owa Kingdom, ably represented by chief Nkemchor Okwokenye , the Bishop of Ika Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev Godfrey Ifeanyichukwu Ekpensisi, Rev Justin Olomu, Apostle Mike Asiwe, Bishop Humphrey Osain, Evang. Mrs. Ngozi Bamah and other anointed men of God. Choir members from St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church and others were invited to sing praises to the glory God. Cultural dance by the Onu-Ika Nigeria Choral Group at the L.F.C was welcomed during the carol concert.
In a brief ministration, the resident Pastor of L.F.C, Agbor, Pastor Caleb Olubiyi thanked God for His grace and mercy in the life of everyone who witnessed the annual carol concert show in his church and beyond. He advised Christians to always love God and be thankful to Him for sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for our their sins, redeeming us from death.
Speaking on behalf of the Delta State Governor, Hon. Festus C. Okoh aka Chuky Dandy cautioned youths, particularly those in Ika Land to desist from drug abuse, internet fraud, cultism, rape, kidnapping and all other forms of social vices. He averred that he is saddened by the way and manner youths of nowadays engage themselves in ritual activities and internet fraud in pursuit of wealth, using the opportunity to sanction the female youths whom he said are fond of running after money and yahoo boys to desist from such acts. He cited the recent gruesome murder a final year student of the Delta state University, Abraka for ritual.
On behalf of the Obi of Owa Kingdom, Chief Nkemchor Okwuokenye, the Inneh of Owa Kingdom advised the good people of Owa and Ika nation in general to embrace God and remain supportive of God’s work. He noted that as Christians, they are supposed to be appreciating God all the time for keeping them alive from January to December. He concluded by encouraging parents to always train their children in ways that pleases God.
Leading one of the prayer sections, the Bishop of Ika Diocese Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Godfrey Ekpenisi noted that Christians across the globe have every reason to pray and thank God because of the challenges Covid 19, Yellow Fever, Ebola, ENDSARS Protest, and other problems that plagued the nation and the World since the beginning of the year 2020. He Christians family urged to always pray even more fervently for not just themselves but the nation and the whole world. According to him prayer is the only key to every success in life
Proceeding, the Bishop enjoined the congregation to pray for Ika nation. On this he read 2nd Chronicles 7: 14. He also charged Christians to pray for Delta State Government and Governments of the whole world, God to intervene in their respective governance. Above all, the spiritual father enjoined the congregation to pray that God should entrench a political leader that would transform Ika nation even more than Governor Okowo has done.
