The auditorium of the Methodist Church, Nung Ukim Circuit in Ikono Local Government Area, Akwa ibom State was bulging at the seams with people especially guests who came to witness the Christmas Breakfast Prayer Summit/Thanksgiving event of the Deputy Chief Whip of Ikono Legislature (7th Assembly) Hon Nsikan William.
It was nothing short of excitement and spiritual uplift as the church’s auditorium reverberated with pure worship and praises. The event coincided with the birth of Jesus Christ and it was instantaneous joy for those who made it to the event.
Naija News House reported that members of the political class turned up to celebrate with one of their own. Notable among the guests was Hon (Prince) Nsikak Ntok, the leader of Ikono Legislature and his Deputy Hon Isaac Sunday Utibe. Others included Hon Idoreyin Nse, Hon Mbosowo Peter, Hon(Elder) Ini Udo Ekpenyong, Hon Augustine Inyang, Hon (Engr) Otobong Essien as well as Hon Emmanuel Okon.
Hon Iberedem Isonguyo Akpan led other legislators from Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area to grace the occasion. Dr Godwin Amawo’s presence was also felt.
Etteidung John Ekanem was also in attendance to give his royal blessings. The Forum of Youth Presidents in Ikono was duly represented by Mr Joseph Okon Udofia.
Members of City of Light Grace Ministry, which the Deputy Chief Whip is the founder turned up en masse to rejoice with their leading pastor.
The Deputy Chief Whip thanked God for granting her success at the polls, “I thank God for his unfailing mercies, love, protection and for seeing me through my electioneering process. I appreciate him and may all the glory be ascribed onto him.”
The leader of Ikono Legislature Hon (Prince) Nsikak Ntok said, “Iam so elated to be part of this success story. Hon Nsikan has set the pace for others to follow.” He added that with the pragmatic traits of the Deputy Chief Whip the 7th Assembly is destined for effective representation and impactful legislation.
Obongawan (Deaconess) Glory James(JP) and Lady Mary Ibanga Edet extolled Hon Nsikan as a pacesetter and prayed for more blessings.
The highlight of the Christmas day event was the giving of wrappers with cash gifts to the women. This single act from the Deputy Chief Whip barely two weeks after she was sworn in as the councillor representing Ikono Middle ward one (I) was greatly applauded and once again confirmed her caring attribute.
The C.A.N. Chairman, Obot Akara Chapter Rev Nsikak Inyang, Rev David A. Akpan (Nung Ukim Circuit) and Pastor Imo Okoibu jointly prayed for the Deputy Chief Whip and rededicated Ikono Middle ward one (I) to God.
I encourage you to keep up with the good work so that the people of ward one will have a cause to smile. What you have done today is a sign of more good things to come.” Pastor Imo Okoibu stated.
The guest were later treated to a sumptuous reception by Ibom Kitchen.
Recalls that Hon Nsikan William restated that she was ready and will give Ikono Middle ward one(I) effective representation on the day of her swearing in on 11th December, 2020.
