How ‘$50, 000’ Was Stolen At APC Headquarters
Naija News House brings to you How ‘$50, 000’ Was Stolen At APC Headquarters
A South East Zonal official of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday lost $50,000 to thieves at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Sources at the secretariat, also known as the Buhari House, told our correspondent that the issue was discussed at the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting of the party.
Security sources hinted our correspondent that the party official from Enugu State had arrived the entrance gate and walked in after which he went back to the gate and raised the alarm over the alleged stolen money.
Our correspondent reports that the crowd of party members and supporters thronged the secretariat immediately the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms began.
While some workers blamed the victim for not going in with the money in his car, others blamed the security personnel manning the gate for not discharging their duties properly.
It was hinted that he held his two phones with the envelop containing the dollars, but only the envelope was taken away from him.
“He came back shouting. This is the first time I will witness this kind of thing here. The crowd was too much, that, probably, was the reason he chose to come in without a car,” a source said.
Another source said, “I didn’t believe it until the issue was raised at the NWC meeting.”
Barrister Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary of the ruling party, was not available for comment at the time of filing this report.
