Arewa Consultative Forum: We Don’t Want Nigeria To Break Up
We don’t want Nigeria to break up. Reports indicate that, Nigerians in the North under the auspices of Arewa Consultative Forum have come out to speak on why North does not want Nigeria to break up.
According to the group, they made it clear that agitation for secession would only worsen the problems the country is already facing and could even lead to another civil war.
The group in their position have maintained that they don’t want Nigeria to break up and that the country is better as one even with the problems that is currently ravaging the country.
Also, they revealed that Northern Nigeria will not support agitation for self-determination because the current structure of the country is not faulty.

Despite the fact that some groups in the South East (Biafra) and West (Oduduwa nation) have been agitating for secession, ACF on Monday, through its spokesman, Emmanuel Yawe, said
“the North can never support secessionists because Nigeria is relatively okay the way it is,” Sahara Reporters reported.
Yawe, in his statement made it clear that any individual calling for separation is calling for war.
He said Nigeria is so integrated to the point that it would be impossible for it to separate without war.
Adding that the civil war maybe more serious war than what had happened between 1967 and 1970.
He said, “We don’t want the country to break up. It is better the way it is, even with all the problems.”
Speaking further, he said that Nigeria has many problems facing the country but those problems are not enough for us to break up.
He said the challenges could be resolved. Adding that Nigeria is a great country and other African countries are looking up to Nigeria and are jealous because of the numerous resources God has blessed us with.
