A’ibom LG POLLS: Senator Bassey Hails Governor Eno
The Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, Aniekan Bassey has expressed gratitude to the leadership of Governor Umo Eno for steering the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to a sweeping victory in the just-concluded local government elections.
According Felicitations message obtained by Naija News House on Uyo Sunday in Uyo, Senator Bassey said the election results have further cemented the PDP’s position as the dominant political force in Akwa Ibom State.
However, Senator Bassey commended the visionary leadership of Governor Eno, which he believes was instrumental in mobilizing widespread support for the party’s candidates across the state, maintaining that “Governor Umo Eno’s inclusive and people-centered governance continues to resonate with the masses. His ability to unite the party and inspire collective action is what has brought us this resounding victory.”
The Senator also expressed gratitude to the Elder Aniekan Akpan-led State PDP Executive for its steadfast commitment to the party’s ideals, stressing that its resilience and strategic planning laid the groundwork for the party’s overwhelming triumph across the state.
Congratulating the newly elected Chairmen from the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, Senator Bassey saluted Hon. Uko Umoh (Etinan), Mr. Edidiong Inyang (Ibesikpo Asutan), Mr. Asuakak Umoh (Ibiono Ibom), Mr. Ubong Ukut (Itu), Prince Anthony Nyong (Nsit Atai), Mrs. Otobong Aaron (Nsit Ibom), Hon. Iniobong Ekpenyong (Uruan), and Dr. Uwemedimo Udoh (Uyo), all of whom emerged victorious on the PDP platform.
“These individuals have earned the trust and mandate of the people through their dedication to public service and their alignment with the values of the PDP. I am confident that they will uphold the responsibilities entrusted to them and serve as true representatives of the people,” the statement stressed.
He further urged the newly elected Chairmen to prioritize the welfare of the people and fulfill the promises they made during the campaign period, adding that, “The people have spoken, and they expect nothing less than exemplary leadership. You must rise to the occasion and ensure that your tenure is marked by progress, transparency, and accountability.”
Speaking further, Senator Bassey said “The local government elections were seen as a litmus test for the PDP’s continued dominance in Akwa Ibom, and with this victory, the party has not only retained its political stronghold but has also renewed the people’s confidence in its governance. As we look toward a new chapter in local administration and governance, I tasked the victorious Chairmen-elect with the responsibility of driving development and improving the standard of living in their respective local government areas.”
