Ogun Police Arrest Man with Fresh Human Head and Body Parts, Suspect Claims He Lured Female Victim to His Residence with Intent to Kill for Financial Gain
A 45-year-old man, Taiwo Yemitan, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly possessing a fresh human head and dismembered body parts of a female victim in the Lafenwa area of Abeokuta.
The suspect was apprehended around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday in his residence located behind Atinsola petrol station, Sanni, Abeokuta.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed that Yemitan’s arrest followed a tip-off from local security outfits, including the Agbekoya and vigilantes.
The statement read, “The suspect admitted to knowing the deceased identified as Darasimi, who he lured to his residence with the intent to kill her.
“He confessed to the murder, naming two other individuals, Kehinde Yemitan and one Kazeem, second name unknown as accomplices in the criminal act.
“Their intention was to sell the victim’s head and other body parts.”
Omolola Odutola explained that the dismembered body had been taken to the general hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta morgue for a postmortem.
She said that efforts were underway to arrest the accomplices and to locate the victims’ relatives.
She said that the suspect would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta for a thorough investigation.
