Church Building Collapses Many Injured, Photo
Police said that 15 people had been pulled from the rubble, 13 of whom are thought to be in a critical condition in Ugandan capital Kampala. The victims had convened in the church for prayers
Dozens of people have been injured after a church’s roof collapsed during a service.
Several of the victims were rushed to hospital after the incident at the Fido Dido building in Kampala, Uganda.
Businessman Nkuubi Kenneth, who works in the building told the Daily Monitor a technician had climbed into the ceiling after the power went off – only to come falling through.
He added: “I used my car to transport some of the victims to hospital.”
Police sources said that 15 people had been pulled from the rubble. They are being treated at the Mulago National Referral Hospital, and 13 are thought to be in a critical condition.
The injured are said to be members of Pastor Isaac Kiweesi’s House of Rest Church.
