Cleaner Honoured For Returning $10,000 Found On Aircraft, Gets Cash Reward, Double Promotion
A staff member of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance), Mr. Auwal Dankode, has been recognized and rewarded after discovering and returning $10,000 while cleaning an aircraft in Kano.
The incident occurred during his routine duties on an Egypt Air flight, where he found the money left behind by a passenger on seat 25H. Without hesitation, Dankode handed the cash over to the Airline’s Station Manager.
In appreciation of his exemplary honesty, Dankode was celebrated at the company’s headquarters in Lagos.
During the event, NAHCO’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Indranil Gupta, praised Dankode’s integrity, describing him as a true ambassador of the company’s values—honesty, diligence, and hard work.
As a token of the company’s gratitude, Dankode was given a cash reward, an immediate promotion, and the prestigious title of NAHCO Brand Ambassador.
Expressing his gratitude, Dankode mentioned that he was the first person from his area to work at the airport, and he appreciated the training and opportunity provided by NAHCO. He thanked the management for recognizing his efforts and stated that the company had empowered him to earn a decent living.
The NAHCO management team, including CFO Mr. Adeoye Emiloju and COO Mr. Didier Steullet, lauded Dankode’s actions, emphasizing the importance of integrity and encouraging him to continue on his commendable path.
Group Executive Director, Dr. Sola Obabori, highlighted that Dankode’s actions had not only made him a symbol of integrity within Nigeria but had also brought positive global attention to the company.
As part of his new role as Brand Ambassador, Dankode will now represent NAHCO at major events across the country, further promoting the company’s values of honesty and excellence.
