Ex-Classmate reveals 3 things that could have caused the plane crash. Reports indicate that a former classmate of Lieutenant General Attahiru Ibrahim has revealed the three possible causes of the plane crash which lead to the death of Attahiru and other military personnel. Sadeeq Shehu who spoke during an interview with Channels TV revealed that he was with the late Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) on Wednesday before the plane crash took place on Friday.
You may recall the recent accident which claimed the life of Nigeria’s COAS and other military officers on Friday. Attahiru and others Army personnel reportedly had died in a plane crash in Kaduna State.
Ex-Classmate Reveals 3 Things
A retired Group Captain and security consultant, Sadeeq Shehu explained during an interview with Channels TV that the outcome of the investigation into the accident could take 12 months. He stated that there would be a preliminary report, before a final report is released.
Sadeeq however noted that based on experience and studies, he can point out 3 factors that could have led to the plane crash.
According to Sadeeq the most prominent
cause of the accident could be human error. He however emphasized that human error isn’t limited to the pilot but could also be an error from the air traffic controller or the engineers/technicians who are supposed to check the aircraft before take off.
He added that the human error can also be categorised into 3, explained below.
a) Procedures may have not been followed. (Slips and lapses)
b) Skills; Pilot may be thrust into situations which he doesn’t have the training or experience to handle
C) Poor judgement.
Sadeeq said the other possible causes could be weather or what is commonly described as an ‘Act of God’. He further explained that according to air accident investigation, experience has shown that variety of factors contribute to an accident, accumulating into the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
