Apostolic Church: FCT Field Needs Interpreters – Pastor Isaiah
The Deputy Chairman of The Apostolic Church, Akwa Cross Territory, United States of America, Pastor E.S. Isaiah PhD, has urged The Apostolic Church Nigeria, FCT Field, to look into having interpreters in churches, especially during conventions.
Pastor Isaiah made this call on Monday while speaking with journalists on the phone. Pastor Isaiah made the call after noting that the majority of members of the FCT Field are Akwa Cross and Ibibio-speaking. This observation was made while he was preaching on Saturday during the 21st FCT Field Annual Convention in Abuja on the topic “A Proof Of Love” ( John 15: 13.).
According to Pastor Isaiah, “I observed that 80% of FCT Field members speak the Ibibio language. Sometimes, as a preacher, while preaching, you may wish to switch to Ibibio, but you will find it difficult because there are some people there who are not Akwa Cross. So, I think the best thing is to use interpreters, especially during conventions.”
However, Pastor Isaiah noted that the FCT Field convention was rated 8/10. “I enjoyed the convention, but there are some areas the field needs to work on for improvement. You know, nowadays media is very important in church, even in other places. During the convention, I and others were following the livestreaming before we arrived, but the media was not encouraging because there was no sound, no reporting, and others. So, if any church want to go far, don’t joke with media, they have very big role to play, I really appreciate it if the church can work on it. Also, the lighting was bad at night,” he said.
Pastor Isaiah further stated that the FCT Field has changed doctrines from other fields, like other fields, even in America. “We reside in a motto seven times on Sundays and time for worship, Bible reading, and others, which have also changed from others. I would like the FCT Field to follow other field administrations so that everything will be uniform.
While responding to a question on whether he would like The Apostolic Church Akwa Cross Territory, United States of America, to join with the FCT Field, he said no. “Because I’m not the boss, we answer directly or indirectly to Akwa Ibom State. The territory was created during the late Pastor E.E. Okon. They came and opened that place for us to worship. Akwa Ibom is our mother. If you check Etinan Field, you will see some of our pictures there. So, it’s not possible, but I will be coming to FCT Field, even next year August, as the youth have invited me for their program.”
Naija News House understands that the convention featured graduation and matriculation ceremonies, creation of new areas and districts, among others, with the theme “Supremacy of Love”.
