#FearlessInOctober: Angry Abuja Protesters Sends Stroπg Warπing To Tinubu Govt
Angry Nigerians, mostly youths who are participating in the ongoing nationwide protests have berated President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government for oppressing, suppressing and stifling Nigerians’ dissenting voices while some politicians are busy stealing public funds with impunity.
One of the protesters in Abuja, while lamenting acute hunger, said, “The Nigerian government wants to depress, suppress, oppress the Nigerian people to the point that they become so scared of expressing their fundamental rights.
“They want to press all voices of dissent but Nigerians today are letting the government know by our action here that our voices can never be silenced.
“If the government is as irresponsible as it has got us this low, the government should not expect us to keep quiet at our penury and suffering, insecurity, bad leadership in every sector, bad healthcare system, bad educational system.”
Another protester said, “Yahaya Bello is stealing from one side, Emefiele is stealing from one side. They are all doing all these gimmicks.
“A bag of rice now is about N100,000. We are buying fuel for over N1,000, and you say it is not enough to come out and express our grievances. We are hungry.”
Naija News House had reported that police operatives attacked some of the Nigerians in Abuja, who on Tuesday morning joined the #FearlessInOctober protest against hardships and poverty.
The policemen were seen shooting teargas canisters and ammunition at the protesters who were peacefully demonstrating against the hardship that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration has unleashed on them.
Videos emerged of the protesters scampering for safety in areas believed to be Jabi, Utako environs of the FCT.
