JUST IN: Again, Gunmen Abduct Passengers Traveling To Abuja
Gunmen have abducted passengers traveling from Enugu to Abuja after attacking their 18-seater bus in Nasarawa state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident to journalists on Monday, revealing that the attack occurred on Friday night at Doruwa village along the Nasarawa-Keffi road.
Nansel stated that an unspecified number of people were abducted during the attack, but three victims were later rescued after a swift response by the police and other security agencies. He assured the public that search and rescue operations are ongoing to arrest the criminals and rescue the remaining victims.
“Police operatives, in collaboration with other security agencies, responded swiftly, but the act was committed before the information came. The hoodlums were trailed, and the area combed. Consequently, 3 people were rescued, and the vehicle recovered to the police station,” Nansel said.
The abduction highlights the persistent security challenges faced by travelers on Nigerian highways, particularly in the northern regions. Security agencies continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety of citizens and bring perpetrators of such crimes to justice.
