How My Pastor Dumped Me After Promising Marriage – Woman Cries Out
The information reaching us on how a popular pastor treated a 33 year old woman in the name relationship.
A 33-year-old woman, Kwanye Tumba has narrated how Marwa Tumba, a pastor, defrauded and dumped her after promising marriage in Adamawa State.
She revealed that she met the 28-year-old in a church programme, organized by Apostle Divine Vandi of Praise Land Ministry, she was invited to by her neighbor.
Kwanye told The Punch that she had been approached by the clergyman after the church programme where he told her God asked him to marry her.
She revealed that she sold her house worth N1.5 million for N500,000 as he asked her to, adding that she gave him some of the proceeds at different times as tithe and as financial support.
Kwanye described the decision of Tumba, who worships at Freedom Power Chapel at Mayanka, to dump her as ‘spiritual 419’ but said she was not hypnotized while they dated. She revealed that his love for her was real as he had even introduced her to his mother.
She added that she resorted to begging when she lost her job as security personnel at the American University of Nigeria in Yola, Adamawa State capital, to support his ministry.
“I decided to go to court because I can say what Tumba did amounted to false pretence to defraud (me). He promised to marry me and made me to sell my house. I have never seen anything like this before. My situation is a classic case of spiritual 419.
“My family abandoned me after they learnt I sold my house over a pastor’s false promise of marriage. Since that incident, I have become destitute; I worry about where to sleep. I got a place around the abattoir but thieves came to attack me at night, threatening to rape me. But if I have no other option, I will still go and sleep there,” she said.
“People that used to help me before withdrew their help after they learnt about what happened. They all said I was careless and foolish. But the Bible says there is a time for everything. I have become emotionally traumatised, I developed high blood pressure, just thinking about my misfortune. How would he make me to sell my house on the false promise that he would marry me? After I sold my house and exhausted my money on him, he ran away.”
