Amid Fight With Hezbollah Israel Launches Fresh Attack On Lebanon, Killed Children, Nurse
The Israel Defense Forces have launched another attack on Southern Lebanon as their fight with a militant group based in the country, Hezbollah intensifies.
It was learned that the strike was launched on Thursday evening and Sally Skayki, a nurse, was said to be one of the residents killed in the attack.
The Israel military said its warplanes bombed infrastructure used by Hezbollah in several locations in southern Lebanon, according to AP News.
Announcing the death of Skayki on X, users said the nurse was hit while she was sleeping last night.
“Israel killed Sally Skayki, a young Lebanese nurse, in South Lebanon tonight while she was sleeping,” Sarah said.
Another user, Hadi claimed that some children were also victims of the attack.
He wrote: “This is who Israel is targeting now. In Lebanon. Not Gaza. While Hezbollah is bombing Israeli military bases, Israel is targeting babies. They are children killers wherever they go. This is their goal. Killing babies. Cowards.”
Howard Beckett wrote: “These are scenes from Jannata in southern Lebanon 🇱🇧 after an attack by Israel 🇮🇱. Terrorism.
“Israel 🇮🇱 rejected all ceasefire proposals. Netanyahu wants a wider regional conflict. It’s the only way he survives. The Hague now.”
Hezbollah recently said it launched a major drone and rocket attack targeting several Israeli military bases amid growing fears of an all-out war between the Lebanese armed group and Israel.
It was the largest attack by the Iran-aligned group since the outbreak of violence between the two sides on October 8, a Hezbollah source told Al Jazeera Arabic on Thursday.
It was reported how there had been tension in Lebanon over circulating reports claiming that Israeli authorities planned to declare war on the Middle Eastern country lately.
It all started from a report circulated on social media in January by a reporter from the Lebanese Al-Manar network, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, allegedly quoting Israeli media and saying the Israeli government would declare war with Lebanon very soon.
According to Jerusalem Post, there was no such news in Israeli media, but warnings in Arab media caused tremendous alarm in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Raad, president of the Hezbollah faction in Lebanon’s parliament, warned Israel not to attack.
Raad said Hezbollah was well prepared for war, and if Israel had felt only the partial power of the organization at the time, then in an all-out war, “it will taste the extension of its arm.”
