Macaroni, Others Granted Bail, Charged For Nreaking COVID-19 Rule
Following the recent Lagos toll gate protests, which led to Arrested many protesters, Mr. Debo Macaroni and 39 other protesters have been granted bail after being arraigned in a Mobile Court in Yaba, Lagos State on Saturday, February 13.
The 40 protesters were charged with breaking the COVID-19 Health Protection Regulations 2021 signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
COVID-19 Health Protection Regulations 2021 bans the gathering of over 50 persons in an enclosed space, except for religious purposes.
Mr. Macaroni and others were also charged with breaking an order not to protest at the Lekki Tollgate.
They were all granted bail in the sum of N100,000 each and a surety in like sum. The protesters were also ordered to produce COVID-19 test results on or before the next adjourned date, March 2, 2021.
