Man Arrested With Fresh Human Skull
A disturbing incident occurred in the Amuloko area of Ibadan, Oyo State, where a middle-aged man, identified as Musa Bello, was apprehended by residents with a fresh human skull in his possession.
The suspect had attempted to conceal the skull in a sack, but his suspicious behaviour drew the attention of passersby, who promptly accosted him. Upon inspection, a human skull was found inside the sack he was holding.
During questioning, Bello claimed to be part of a syndicate involved in the sale of human body parts.
The suspect has been handed over to the Oyo State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
In July, a man identified as Nuhu Ezra was also arrested with a human skull and bones in a community in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
This had been contained in a statement signed by Josephine Adeh, FCT Command Police Public Relations Officer, which said the police acted on credible intelligence in trailing and arresting the suspect.
She disclosed that the suspect said he found the human skull and bones in the bush while hunting in the Kuje area of the territory, and confessed that he had the intention to sell the body parts for six hundred thousand naira (N600,000).
The statement reads in part, “The operatives of the FCT police command attached to Iddo police division on July 9, 2024, at about 9:00 p.m., acting on credible intelligence, trailed and arrested one Nuhu Ezra ‘m’ of Gosa Kipikipi village, Lugbe, Abuja, with a human skull and bones.
“The suspect, who was found with the body parts upon interrogation, stated that he picked them up from the bush while hunting at Kuje and had the intention to sell the body parts for six hundred thousand naira (N600,000),” the statement added.
