Information reaching Naija News House says that Another Traditional Marriage Called Off In Akwa Ibom
On Saturday 18th December 2021 a traditional marriage ceremony at Nsit Atai Local Government area of Akwa Ibom State was called off following disagreement over payment of bride price. Same day a similar situation was reported in Ibesikpo Asutan.
According to trusted Neighborhood News sources, the Couple’s had in the morning been joined together in Holy matrimony at a colorful Church wedding held at Christ Embassy 164 Edet Akpan avenue (Four lane) .
The brides parents and the groom had an agreement that he will settle all outstanding traditional rites when they arrive Nsit Atai for the traditional Ceremony so the brides parents on the grounds of this understanding confirmed before the clergy that the groom has settled all traditional requirements for the Marriage to go ahead.
On arrival in Nsit Atai, the groom’s family as tradition demands were served Udia Ibenghe and guests served meals as well. The groom failed to meet his own part of the understanding and the brides parents who had since played along changed tunes.
Soon , the entire environment was overwhelmed by the ensuing exchanges. The groom, his family and guests scampered in different directions for safety pandemonuim set in following the brides father insistence that the Ceremony cannot continue until the groom fulfills his obligations as agreed.
3days on , the groom is no where to be found. His mobile phone which was picked while he fled the scene is in the custody of the bride making the search for him difficult and complicated.
