THE PROVOST
The Provost is the highest academic officer in the institution who plays a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the college, fostering a culture of academic excellence to ensure the success of faculty, staff, and students, and setting academic values and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicant must be a registered Nurse/ Midwife licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria as a nursing educator with sufficient academic leadership experience, a strong record of scholarship, and a demonstrated commitment to nursing education excellence.
(i). Candidate should possess a minimum of a master’s degree in Nursing.
(ii). Candidate must have at least ten (10) years of post-registration experience as a Nurse/Midwife Educator in lecturing at any of the Nursing schools or Universities.
(iii). Outstanding leadership ability, strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal and coordination skills, emotional intelligence, confidence, and executive presence for sound decisions and logical interpretations.
(iv). Proven track record of leadership and institutional management, possessing strong academic, administrative, and visionary qualities.
(v). Possess competence to advise the Governing Council of the College on any matter affecting the policy, finance, and administration of the College.
(vi). Strong skill set in prioritizing, strategizing, meeting deadlines, and following up on assignments, roles, and responsibilities.
(vii). Excellent communication (speaking, writing, and presentation) skills, including demonstrated professional and effective working relationships.
(viii). A committed Christian who aligns with the values of MCNS is a person with outstanding moral character and integrity and upholds Governing Documents, the MCNS Constitution, and Bylaws.
THE BURSAR
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the Organization. He/she is responsible for the day-to-day administration and financial affairs of the College. He/she heads the Bursary department and is custodian of the College Finance. The Candidate for the post shall be a visionary, a person of high integrity and moral character with excellent interpersonal relations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must:
(I). Possess a good honours degree (at least Second Class Lower Division) preferably a BSc in Accounting, Economics, Financial Management, or any other related field or related subjects from recognized tertiary institutions
(ii). Have not less than 10 years of experience in the financial sector.
(iii). Possess professionally
recognized Accountancy qualifications, e.g. ICAN, ACMA, ACA, ANAN, CPA, ACCA, CNA.
(iv). Be computer literate and must be conversant with accounting and auditing software,
be free from financial embarrassment, and enjoy good physical and mental health
(v). Be below the age of 50 years at the point of assumption of duty.
(vi). Be morally sound, be of impeccable character, proven integrity, and free from any financial embarrassment.
THE COLLEGE LIBRARIAN
The College librarian is the Chief Library officer of the institution and is responsible for the administration of the College library, including the acquisition, organization, and maintenance of print and electronic resources relevant to nursing education and research. He/she is a Principal officer of the College.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Applicants must possess:
(i). A minimum of a BSc degree in Library and Information Science.
(ii). Not less than 10 years of experience working in an academic library, preferably in a healthcare or nursing education setting.
(iii). Knowledge of information resources and research methodologies relevant to nursing and healthcare disciplines.
(iv). Familiarity with library technologies and systems, including integrated library systems (ILS), electronic resource management (ERM), and discovery tools.
(v). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
(vi). Commitment to providing excellent customer service and supporting the information needs of library users.
NURSE EDUCATORS
The Nurse Educator must possess the following qualifications:
(i). Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) to practice.
(ii). Must have a minimum of BSc degree in Nursing.
(iii). A Masters degree and specialties such as anesthetics, pediatrics, mental health, public health, etc. will be an added advantage.
(iv). Post Graduate Diploma Education (PGDE Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Education (PGDNE) and Professional Diploma are added advantages.
(v). And a minimum of three years teaching/working experience.
MIDWIFE EDUCATORS
The Midwife Educator must possess the following qualifications:
(i). Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) to practice
(ii). Must have a minimum of BSc degree in Nursing.
(iii). A Master’s degree and specialties in anesthetics pediatrics, mental health, public health, etc will be added advantage
(iv). Post Graduate Diploma Education (PGDE Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Education (PGDNE) and Professional Diploma are added advantages.
(v). And a minimum of three years teaching/working experience.
CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS
The clinical instructor must possess the following qualifications:
(i). Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) to practice.
(ii). Must have a first degree in Nursing
(iii). Should be RN or RM with specialties in anesthetics, pediatrics, mental health, public health, etc.
(iv). A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience is important.
GENERAL STUDIES LECTURERS (English, Physics, Chemistry, ICT/Computer, Nutrition & Dietetics, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Sociology/ Psychology, Biostatistics & Research, Healthcare Finance.
Applicants for general studies shall possess the following qualifications:
(i). A minimum of a BSc degree relevant in their subject areas from a recognized University.
(ii). A Masters degree or any additional certification will be an advantage.
(iii) A minimum of three years of teaching/working experience.
(iv). A fresh graduate applying should possess a second-class upper.
LABORATORY ASSISTANT
The candidate should possess:
(i). A good level ND or HND in Science Laboratory Technology from a recognized Institution.
(ii). Additional certificates are added advantage.
(iii). Should be able to supervise and assist nursing students with skills to meet clinical objectives.
(iv) Should be able to assist in developing clinical activity days such as medication/Maternity boot camps with lead faculty as we as assist nursing students who are practicing procedures, evaluate their work, and advise nursing faculty of laboratory performance.
HOSTEL MANAGER
An applicant for the position should:
(i). Have a degree in Housing, Business studies/administration, Public administration or social sciences or a degree in Social Work. Good grades in other fields such as English and Mathematics, could be accepted if the candidate has the relevant experience.
(ii). Should be able to supervise, support, and motivate staff.
(iii). communicate well – verbally and in writing – with residents, colleagues, and external bodies.
(iv). work with minimum supervision and on own initiative to solve problems constructively and encourage/ develop a teamwork approach;
SECRETARIES
Candidates should possess:
(i). A good level of education in ND or HND in Office Management Technology (OTM) or certification relevant to the post.
(ii). Experience in administration or prior secretarial work.
(iii). Must be computer literate.
(iv). Should have a good command of office language, typing skills, organizational abilities, and the willingness to perform various tasks.
CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER
The CSO leads the security department and heads the overall security architecture and strategy of the institution. This includes performing security risk assessments and implementing security policies that prevent intrusion and cultism in and out of campus, protect college properties as well as the students from internal and external aggression, and avoid data loss and fraud.
The candidate should be:
(i). A retired security personnel with vast experience from the police, army, Navy etc.
(ii). Additional professional certificates in security studies, cyber crimes, etc, will be of advantage.
(iii). Knowledge of security frameworks and good writing and communication skills.
(iv). Should have an unbiased mind and ability to relate with the community it affects the security of the college.
