Impeachment: Ondo Assembly Gives Aiyedatiwa 7-Day Ultimatum
Ondo State House of Assembly has given the Deputy Governor of the State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa a seven-day ultimatum to respond to the corruption allegations against him.
The Assembly earlier said that it had begun the process of impeaching Aiyedatiwa.
The Deputy Governor is being accused of gross misconduct while he served as the acting governor in the absence of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu who was on three-month sick leave abroad.
The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Oshati Olatunji, made this known when he appeared on Channels Television on Friday.
“There are allegations against the deputy governor bordering on misappropriation of funds. We are duty bound as legislators to do our job. We are not witch-hunting anybody.
“This includes a N30 million allegation and violation of the constitution.
“What we are saying is that he should give us a reply to these allegations within seven days,” he said.
