Great mistake PDP made with Peter Obi that should not be repeated in 2023. It has been reported that in the year 2019 presidential election, the opposition party did not succeed in winning the presidential election because of some factors that characterized the failure of the party.
As the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus should have looked at the shortcomings that happened in the last and past national election.
The factors that slowed down the improvement of the party should not be encouraged anymore.
A lot of factors are responsible for the failure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the year twenty nineteen presidential election but only one of them is unique and likely to be repeated in the next presidential election if the top members of the party are not careful enough.
The party went ahead and selected the right politicians from the wrong regions of the country.

The choice of the party’s flag bearer is important to the extent that it determines the faith of some political parties in most elections.
The PDP is not an exemption to this assertion in the year 2019 because of wrong combinations of politicians.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was chosen and endorsed as the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while Chief Peter Obi from Anambra State was chosen as the running mate of Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku Abubakar tried on his side to deliver votes for the party in some already expected states. He even won in Ondo and Edo State where nobody expected him to.
Despite all these efforts, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi were heavily defeated by President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in the last election.
Although we can not satisfactorily say that Peter Obi is responsible for the defeat but he was not present when Atiku needed him most.
The number of conscious people in the Southeastern part of the country is low and the people of Anambra State do not usually produce votes as expected for their candidates.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should avoid using Peter Obi in the year twenty twenty-three presidential election basically because of the aforementioned factor.
The party can still consider politicians from the North as the representatives of the party in the upcoming presidential election and the running mates should come from the Southwestern part of the country.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should avoid that mistake with Peter Obi. Peter is a good politician but his region does affect his victory.
