Nigerian Policemen Slump During Inauguration Parade
Two male officers of the Nigeria Police Force reportedly slumped on Monday during a parade at the inauguration ceremony of the new governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas.
It was gathered that the police officers were immediately moved out of the stadium for emergency medical checks where they were treated in a makeshift clinic located on the premises of the stadium.
Daily Post reports that some of the Nigerian Red Cross officials who helped in conveying the officers to the makeshift clinic for treatment said the policemen slumped as a result of stress, exhaustion and tiredness as they were said to have been at the venue of the inauguration as early as 7am.
Some of the medical personnel at the makeshift clinic said the affected police officers were responding to treatment and will soon be health and hearty again
However, a source reportedly said that the officers would be conveyed to the police clinic in Jalingo, the state capital for proper medical attention.
A top government official was quoted as saying that “The problem is that the majority of the policemen and other paramilitary on the parade ground did not eat before coming.”
