Christmas: Rep Idem Shout Down Akwa Ibom, Donates 4000 Bags Of Rice To Constituents
Akwa Ibom Lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem has donated 4,000 bags of rice to his constituents ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Idem, representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency presented the items on Wednesday.
The lawmaker, who said that the items would be distributed to 24 wards his constituency, particularly the less privileged ones.
He explained that the gesture aimed at ensuring that his constituents celebrate Christmas and New Year with ease, owing to the current economic hardship in the country.
Idem, who said that the gesture was not part of his constituency projects.
He explained that the items would be distributed to the constituents devoid of political or tribal inclination.
However, the lawmaker, who called on his constituents and all residents of Akwa Ibom to be peaceful at all times, urged Christians to use the Christmas season to pray for the progress of the nation.
