Senate Presidency : Barau, Uzodimma, PDP Governors, Others Join Akpabio For Thanksgiving In Wike’s LG
Still basking in the euphoria of his emergence as Senate President, Godswill Akpabio on Sunday took his thanksgiving to St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Rumuepirikom, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Naija News House reports that former Governor Nyesom Wike, who mobilised massive support for Akpabio during the keenly contested Senate Presidency election, hails from Obio/Akpor.
Akpabio, during the thanksgiving service, was joined by his deputy, Senator Jibrin Barau from Kano, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo, two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors, Sim Fubara of Rivers and Seyi Makinde of Oyo, among others.
Naija News House reports that Wike was also present at the service.
Naija News House Recall that Akpabio, who served as two-term PDP governor in Akwa Ibom and also a Senate Minority Leader before dumping the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), defeated Yari Abdulaziz from Zamfara to clinch by 63 votes to 46 to clinch the Senate Presidency seat.
