Edo Guber: Support Labour Party; Senator Imasuen Tells PDP, APC, Others
Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Neda Imasuen, has urged the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) to collapse their structures in favor of the Labour Party (LP) in the upcoming Edo State governorship election.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Thursday, Senator Imasuen lamented that the ruling parties have failed to address the state’s pressing issues, leaving the people in dire hardship. He cited the high cost of living, inadequate healthcare, dilapidated schools, and insecurity as examples of the government’s inadequacies.
The senator, who chairs the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, expressed his dissatisfaction with the impact made on his constituents in his one year in office, citing the enormous needs of the people. He believes that the Labour Party, modeled after the UK’s Labour Party, offers a viable solution to the state’s challenges.
Senator Imasuen’s call for a political shift in Edo State comes as the September 21 governorship election approaches. He urged the people to embrace the Labour Party, which he believes will bring relief and progress to the state.
“The time has come for a change in leadership,” Senator Imasuen said. “The Labour Party is the answer to our problems. We must give way to a new party that has something to offer.”
