Troops Raid Terrorist Networks In Borno, Kill Six, Arrest 11 Suspects As Jas Member Surrenders
The Nigerian military has recorded fresh operational successes against terrorist groups in Borno State, with troops of Operation HADIN KAI neutralising six terrorists, arresting 11 suspected collaborators and receiving the surrender of a JAS member.
The successes were recorded during separate operations in Kaga and Gwoza Local Government Areas between October 24 and 25, 2026, as troops intensified efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and recover weapons and ammunition.

According to the Joint Task Force (North East), troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade Garrison, in collaboration with Hybrid Force personnel, launched an ambush against ISWAP/JAS terrorists along the Targejeri axis of Kaga LGA at approximately 12:37 a.m. on October 25.
Six terrorists were neutralised during the operation.
The troops subsequently recovered an AK-47 rifle, three magazines, 169 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two Android phones, three button phones and charms.
In another operation, troops raided Benisheikh town in Kaga LGA at about 6:20 a.m. on October 24, arresting six additional suspected terrorist collaborators.
The latest arrests brought the number of suspects apprehended in connection with the investigation to 11, including five individuals arrested earlier.
Military personnel recovered an AK-47 rifle, three empty magazines, 169 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, three terrorist uniforms, a turban, a head mask, mobile phones and charms during the raid.
The suspects are being investigated to determine their alleged roles in terrorist activities and identify other individuals connected to the network.
In a separate development, troops of the 192 Battalion (Main), working with Hybrid Force personnel at Hambagda IDP Camp in Gwoza LGA, received a JAS member who surrendered at about 9:20 p.m. on October 24.
The individual reportedly escaped from a terrorist hideout in the Mandara Mountains area of Gwoza after deciding to abandon terrorism.
The surrendering individual handed over an AK-47 rifle and a magazine loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
The military said the individual had been taken into custody for further investigation and processing in accordance with established procedures.
The Theatre Command described the developments as evidence of continued operational pressure on terrorist groups and their collaborators, adding that the recovery of weapons and ammunition would help undermine the groups’ ability to sustain their activities.
It also stressed that the ongoing operations were aimed at disrupting terrorist logistics, denying insurgents freedom of movement and creating favourable conditions for the return of displaced residents.
The command called on residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with credible information that could assist ongoing counter-terrorism efforts across the North-East.
