Tinubu’s CoS To Spend N15m On 2 Photocopiers, N20m On 4 Scanners, 4 Computers, N285Million On Vehicle Purchase
A review of the 2025 proposed budget has shown that the office of the Chief of Staff to the President Bola Tinubu, plans to spend N285 million to purchase vehicles.
The office plans to spend another N293 million on honorarium in one year.
The chief of staff office is occupied by Femi Gbajabiamila, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives.
An honorarium is a payment or reward given to someone for their services, expertise, or participation in an event, typically when they are not entitled to a standard fee or salary. It’s often a token of appreciation for their time, effort, or contribution.
Other details on the budget document show that the office of the chief of staff plans to spend N121.6 million on an archiving system. The purchase of shredding machines is expected to cost N4 million, while the purchase of two photocopiers will cost the government N15 million.
Annual renewal/upgrade of computer license software was estimated at N45 million, while the purchase of servicing IT equipment will cost N23 million.
A sum of N20 million was budgeted for four scanners and four desktop computers for the chief of staff registry.
Office stationeries and computer consumables are expected to cost N8.1 million, maintenance of office/IT equipment is expected to cost N40.6 million, local training is expected to gulp N312 million, and international training, N319 million.
There have been concerns about the prudence of government in the spendings of its resources, especially amid scarce resources and government’s heavy indebtedness.
Nigeria plans to spend N15.81 trillion on debt servicing for the 2025 fiscal years. The country plans a budgetary expenditure of N49.7 trillion despite an expected revenue of N34 trillion.
